A family story should
stay in your hands.

Prelaunch notice: the operator’s business and contact details must be completed before purchases open.

Who operates the service

Past & Kin — operator details pending launch approval. A privacy and support contact will be supplied before launch.

Information we use

We use your account identifier and email, family names, approximate dates and places, relationship types, and notes you choose to supply. We keep research results, citations, order status and limited payment references. Do not submit Social Security numbers, identity documents, raw DNA files, medical information or unrelated personal data.

Why and where it is processed

We use this information to check record access, research deceased ancestors, produce your atlas, handle payment and refunds, and provide support. Family context and relevant notes may be sent to OpenAI for AI processing and search. Research providers may process information in the United States or other locations under their applicable terms. Do not assume an AI-generated answer is an established family fact.

Hosting and storage use Cloudflare infrastructure. Stripe processes payment information; we never receive your complete card number. A configured transactional email provider sends delivery notices. Production provider and retention settings must be confirmed before launch.

Private accounts and public links

Your atlas is private by default and protected by an email sign-in code and a secure account session. Sign-in emails use Resend. You can create a revocable sharing link. Anyone holding that link can view the shared version; it is not an invitation-only permission system. Public output hides living profiles’ names, dates and places and omits private narratives and source excerpts. Third-party source pages have their own privacy practices.

Gifts

The purchaser gets a redemption link. The recipient provides their own family information, consents to processing, and controls access. After redemption, the purchaser cannot see the recipient’s private family atlas through the gift purchase.

Retention and deletion

The purchase includes 12 months of website hosting. Downloadable exports let you retain your findings. Deleting an atlas removes its family inputs, research outputs and sharing access from the active application. Limited transaction records may be retained for accounting, disputes and legal obligations. Backups and research/payment providers can have separate retention periods; deletion from this application is not a claim of immediate deletion from every provider.

Your choices

You can download your data, turn off sharing and request correction or deletion. Support and privacy requests use the operator contact above. We do not use this service to sell family data or infer sensitive identity categories. The service is intended for U.S. adults 18 and older.
